When testing the properties of laminated board sheets, we found that there are many factors that affect the test results, such as glue content, volatile matter content, hot pressing process and the properties of base paper and so on. Therefore, after understanding these factors, we need to pay special attention to the performance of laminated board sheets. We should count these factors into the final test results in order to avoid large errors.
First of all, the effect of gluing quantity on the performance test of laminated board sheets.
The amount of glue applied refers to the weight percentage of resin in the impregnated paper. With the increase of glue content, the mechanical properties of laminated board sheetsalso increase at the initial stage. When the amount of glue reaches a certain value, the mechanical strength reaches the highest. Although the amount of glue continued to increase, but the mechanical properties did not change significantly, or even slightly decreased. At the same time, the amount of glue to improve wear resistance, water resistance and dimensional stability has been increased.
Second of all, effect of volatile content on the performance test of laminated board sheets
There are some volatile substances in the dipping paper, which has a great influence on the physical properties of the laminated board sheets. When its relative humidity increases and the volatile content increases, its tensile strength will decrease significantly, and the bending strength will also decrease in varying degrees. Therefore, it is necessary to strictly control the volatile matter content of paper in production. The volatile content is related to the solubility of resin. When the volatile matter is pressed to a minimum, the liquidity of the impregnated paper will be very poor. At present, in the actual production, the control of volatile matter content is as follows: surface paper 6 ≤9%, decorative paper 5 ≤8%, bottom paper 6 ≤8%.
Third of all, effect of hot pressing technology on the performance test of laminated board sheets
Temperature, time and pressure are the main conditions for making laminated board sheets. The pressure has a direct impact on the specific gravity of the product. The specific gravity is related to water absorption and hygroscopicity. Therefore, when the specific gravity is small, the gap in the paper is large, and the moisture absorption of the product is strong. On the contrary, the density of the product is high, the water absorption capacity is small, and the stability of the decorative laminate is also better, so the specific gravity is generally controlled at 6 to 8 MPA.
The last but not the least, effect of properties of original paper on the performance test of laminated board sheets
The absorption of the base paper, the coverage of the material, the printing quality and so on will cause the defect of the appearance tone of the laminated board sheets. If there is pulp in the bottom paper, or because there is no dipping glue, it will cause the laminate bubble. In short, there are many factors that affect the quality. As long as we strictly control all kinds of process parameters and master the process operation skillfully, we can overcome the unfavorable factors and produce high quality laminated board sheets
